| The
ASOCIACION ARMERA is directly related to hunting, which is the second
sport in Spain as far as the number of licences is concerned
(1,400,000), only exceeded by the one of licensed fishers. In fact, no
other country in Europe except for France has a higher number of
licensed hunters.
The
ASOCIACION ARMERA agrees with hunters and shooting players on the need
to defend ecological values and protect the natural environment.
The
beginning of the close season every year causes a great number of people
to start working. As many as 6,000 hunting clubs and associations spread
throughout the country carry out important activities, contributing to
the prosperity of a sector with a great volume of sales and a high rate
of employment.
In
fact, over 20,000 steady jobs and about 2 million temporary jobs (gunsmith’s,
dog-breeders, manufacturers and traders of clothing, shoes, vehicles,
hotels, etc.) are generated by hunting and fishing activities in our
country.
The
ASOCIACION ARMERA contributes to these figures with an annual turnover
of about 250 millons €, employing directly and steadily 2,000 people,
not to mention the high number of temporary jobs created, which, being
subject to the close season, is therefore not easy to estimate. |
