Almost 50 years of work endorse the efforts of an industrial collective, that of gunsmiths, which is being reorganized to face the new challenges of the 21st century.

United mostly under the umbrella of the Arms Association, manufacturers and importers/distributors of sporting firearms and their accessories defend, with even greater determination if possible, the interests of the sector against the challenges we currently face: the tightening of the application of regulations governing the manufacture, distribution and use of all elements necessary for the practice of hunting and shooting sports, the transformation of international markets and the decrease in game species, among others.

For years we have experienced, in general terms, an unfavorable treatment of our activity in the eyes of public opinion, mainly due to poor communication about the nature and characteristics of our daily work.

For those knowledgeable about this activity, it is unnecessary to insist on our legitimacy and the need to seek institutional support for a commercial activity with a good level of billing and a product of recognized international prestige.

For the general public, the lack of knowledge of many of these factors and the oversizing given by the media to isolated dramatic events in which a firearm appears, hinder an objective and fair perception of the development of this sector.

In the firm belief that the union of our associates is the best formula to face the generalized tendency towards criticism and discredit of a dignified commercial activity, the Arms Association undertakes a program of actions in defense of the sector that points to four main directions:

  • Pressure before competent Spanish institutions (Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness) and community institutions so that the interests and opinion of the sector are taken into account in negotiations on possible legislative reforms that may affect it.
  • Legal defense of associates against sanctions and violations of their rights that may occur.
  • Development of Training Plans aimed at workers in the Armory.
  • Promotion of commercial activity of this group of companies both in Spain and abroad, through encouraging their presence at fairs and events in the national market, at international fairs SHOT Show (USA), IWA (Germany) and ARMS & HUNTING (Russia), as well as through specific direct commercial missions to different countries.

However, the institutional support we have been receiving in the external promotion of this business and the effort invested in all activities derived from this tripartite program, will be in vain if we do not have recognition of our rights as a sector in defending the position that corresponds to us in the economy and in the development of two sporting disciplines such as hunting and shooting.
